Elizabeth Jane Hurley was an English actress, model and TV personality who rose to fame in the 1990s when she became Hugh Grant's girlfriend. In 1994 as Grant became the focus of global media attention because of the worldwide box office success of his movie Four Weddings and a Funeral Hurley accompanied him to the premiere of the film in Los Angeles premiere in a plunged black Versace gown, which was pinned together by gold safety pins which gained immediate media attention. Her relationship in the company of Estee Lauder has been the major highlight of her career. Hurley got the first model contract she was offered at the age of 29 and has been using her to model Estee Lader's cosmetics since 1995. Her most well-known work is her part as Vanessa Kensington, in the popular spy-films International Man of Mystery (2007) and Austin Powers The Spy Who Shagged Me (2000). Hurley is an actress and designer of the eponymous Beachwear line. I kissed a Girl, a confident tribute to her fascination with sexuality with a hard-edged electronic pop beat, gained a greater splash several months after. It quickly sparked controversy, as critics criticized the song for encouraging sexual relations between gays and lesbians and others charged that the sexually explicit scene that it depicted was a sly way to appeal to male fantasies of female sexuality. I Kissed a Girl, the combination of excitement with a sophisticated melody, helped I Kissed a Girl to become a hit number one in many countries and drive sales of her 2008 album One of the Boys. Hot N Cold, Perry's energetic and sharply-tongued record with its second hit single also became a huge hit. The album which Perry created herself, sold over 3 million copies.
